THE PROBLEM

POVERTY & HOPELESSNESS

Poverty is crippling Mozambique, one of the poorest nations in the world. What is Poverty? Poverty is hunger, lack of shelter, being sick and not being able to see a doctor. It is not knowing how to read, not having a job and it is fear for the future. The people of Mozambique lack representation, freedom and there is a real absence of hope. They face significant problems:

  • 52% of the population are living below the poverty line.

  • Only 40% of the population has access to clean water.

  • Drought has forced many people to use contaminated water,  leading to increasing rates of cholera and diarrhea.

  • About 1.5 million of Mozambique’s children are orphans, and approximately half the population is under the age of 17.

THE SOLUTION

FREEDOM THROUGH BUSINESS — A HAND UP, NOT A HAND OUT

The effects of undernourishment can be severe and life-long. Children who are well-fed are better able to participate in school.

The importance of education in the life of a child cannot be overstated. Education is central to a child’s development and full participation in society.

We believe well nourished, well cared for, healthy children are more likely to survive and develop into healthy and productive adults.  Able to make a meaningful contribution to social, economic and Kingdom impact of their families, communities and nation.

The objectives of Divine Poultry Project are as follows:
ï‚· Establish a model farm.
ï‚· Start self-sustaining replicable businesses
ï‚· Provide jobs and job training in impoverished communities targeting women and young adults.
ï‚· Provide practical experiential business training
ï‚· Utilize businesses to provide essential protein to children.

TRANSFORMATIONAL, SUSTAINABLE, REPRODUCIBLE

We are creating and stimulating their local economy. By generating incremental opportunities for people who need a job, we are directly impacting economic realities that contribute to social injustices and poverty. We are working to build better lives, making a difference from spiritual, physical and intellectual perspectives.
